Electric fencing
- Will you issue an electric fence system certificate when the work is done?
- Is the installer registered with the Department of Employment and Labour as an electric fence installer?
- Does the energiser have battery backup, and can it link to my alarm or armed response?
Gate automation
- Which motor suits my gate's weight and how often it opens each day?
- Is there battery backup for load-shedding, and how many open-and-close cycles does it give?
- Are anti-crush safety settings and a manual release included?
Any security company
- Ask for the company's PSIRA registration number and check it yourself on the official PSIRA register.
- Ask whether the staff who will install or respond are individually registered with PSIRA.
