How we check and score

Listings

Every company is compiled from public sources: industry association member lists and business listings. We publish a company only when we find a current registration for it on the official PSIRA register. Its registration number and the date we checked the register are shown on its profile, and that is what PSIRA verified means.

The check is a register lookup. We have not phoned or emailed the companies, so names, numbers and addresses are as the public sources give them.

If you run a listed business, claim your listing from its profile page to correct its details.

Website performance score

Listed websites are measured with Google PageSpeed Insights (mobile strategy, performance category), and each score is shown with the date it was measured. We publish the Lighthouse performance score out of 100 and do not edit or weight it.

A site that fails to load at the time of the check is shown as "Website not loading", and a listing with no website is shown as "No website found". In both cases we show no score, because there is nothing to measure.

Area pages

We only publish a service-and-city or suburb page when it has at least three verified companies and at least one piece of real local data (such as SAPS precinct crime statistics). Pages that fall below that bar are removed from the sitemap.

Corrections

Business owners can claim their listing from its profile page to correct it, ask for a listing to be removed, or get a free website check of their own site.
